I called because I was having a toothache for two days. They got me in on the same day I called. They made me feel comfortable and pain-free. This will now be my new dentist.

Marvin S. (Hu Smiles Patient)

Highly recommend! I had a severely impacted wisdom tooth and was able to get in the same day for extraction. Paid out of pocket, and it was very affordable.

My lower jaw was swollen and aching for 3 days. Worst at night. I called Hu Smile, not expecting to schedule an appointment the same day, Saturday! I walked into the office, friendly staff greeted me with the utmost professionalism, did an x-ray, and found the problem; wisdom tooth causing infection. The doctor recognized my pain and got it taken care of right away! Highly recommended.

I had a broken temporary crown and couldn't eat or drink. My dentist was out of town (of course, this was on a long holiday weekend), but Dr. Hu and his team were able to see me the same day. They made me a new temporary and fixed me right up. And considering they were out of network for my insurance AND it was a same-day appointment, SUPER affordable!

I have severe anxiety and have never, ever had a positive experience with a dentist. Thanks to Dr. Hu and staff, that’s a thing of the past! They explain everything beforehand (billing-wise & procedure-wise). I’m actually looking forward to having all my dental issues addressed! One more thing... I called because of tooth pain, and they got me in within an hour! Amazing!

FAQ ABOUT DENTAL EMERGENCIES

  • What do I do if I knock out a tooth?

First: Do you still have the tooth? If so, rinse off the crown portion (the white part) carefully while leaving the natural tissue and root alone. Then, if you can, place the tooth gently back into its original socket and hold it in place.

If this can’t be accomplished, you can place the tooth in a cup of milk instead.

Time is of the essence when it comes to successfully reimplanting natural teeth, so it’s important to call us at 253-277-8767 as soon as possible.

  • What do I do if a tooth breaks?

Have any significant pieces of the tooth been dislodged? If so, gather them up so that you can bring them with you to our practice.

Facial swelling is likely in these situations. If this is the case, then patients can hold a cold compress against the appropriate cheek to keep it under control.

  • How do I get rid of a toothache?

Sometimes, toothaches are caused by a large piece of food or other object stuck between the teeth. To eliminate this possibility, floss and rinse thoroughly.

If the discomfort persists, you can use painkillers until you’re able to reach our location. However, DON’T place them directly on the gum tissue, as this can cause burning.

  • How can I prevent a dental emergency?

While you can’t completely avoid the possibility of a dental emergency, your emergency dentist in Renton, Dr. Hu, can provide you with some helpful suggestions for minimizing the risks:

    • Attend regular dental check-ups and cleanings every six months so that any dental damage or pain is treated in its earliest form
    • Don’t chew on the ice in your drink
    • Exercise caution when eating foods that are really tough, chewy, or sticky
    • Always wear a mouthguard when participating in sports
